Technology advisory and consulting from Inventient

Decisions before purchases

A written assessment of what you run, what it costs and what to change — before you commit to a build or a contract.

You probably don't need more technology

Most businesses we meet are paying for more software than they use and getting less from it than they should. The problem is rarely a missing tool; it is systems that don't share a record, a platform chosen for a business that no longer exists, or a security posture nobody has written down. An assessment puts numbers on the current arrangement and recommends the smallest change that fixes it. The recommendation is yours whether or not we do the work.

Clear technology decisions

Four steps to a recommendation

01

Conversation

An hour with the people who run the business and the people who run the systems. What works, what doesn't, what it costs. No charge.

02

Assessment

We review the systems, the spend and the workflows, usually over two weeks, and verify the numbers rather than take them as given.

03

Recommendation

A written document: current state, options, our recommendation, cost and sequence. In plain language, with the technical detail in an appendix.

04

Implementation

Do it with us, do it in-house, or take it to another provider. The document is written so all three work.

Questions about advisory

What does it cost?

The first conversation and the recommendation that follows it are free. Formal assessments and reviews are fixed-price, quoted after that conversation, and the fee is credited against any build that follows.

Are you going to recommend your own services?

Only where they fit, and we say so plainly when they don't. The document is written to be actionable without us, we have no reseller arrangements, and more than one assessment has ended with "keep what you have."

How long does an assessment take?

Around two weeks for most, longer when there are many systems or the numbers need verifying. You get the written recommendation at the end, not a slide deck.

What do we actually receive?

A document: what you run now and what it costs, the options, our recommendation, the price and sequence to do it, and the technical detail in an appendix for whoever implements it.
